I see we're about to hit 88 this week. Ikitesurf is predicting mid-teens to 20 at Rooster and the South Coast, but light everywhere else. I can't make the coast but Rooster could work if I can launch in the high water. The cam is still down, but I'm pretty sure it's still flooded this whole month. Has anyone ever drift launched from the gravel boat ramp in the middle of the park (not the paved, western-most one)? I've drift launched from Rowena a bunch, but I wouldn't try it east of the pilings at Rooster (stairs). Also, how does Bridal Veil work? Do you park on the North side and walk the overpass? I've seen a few kiters there especially last fall.

I pretty much always kite stevie on easties cuz its close to home, but beware at bv. heard people were getting their cars jacked there in recent years.

seems like drift launching has gotta be possible somewhere in that big ass park.

might be too light for the big current going on now, last easterlies the 25 mph felt like 18mph with the current. I might try the big kite downwinder from hv if its too light to park and play at stevie. gonna be a warm day, anyway! (froze my butt off today)

Yeah, I've had 5 good easterly days at Stevenson this year in my dry suit, but ikitsurfs forecast sounds like 17 m at Stevenson. I'll definitely skip a flooded Rooster if I can use a 12m at Stevenson. Has anyone tried Lawton Creek on the Washington side directly across from Rooster? Looks like a road down to a river rock delta similar to Mosier. Google maps pic is from a partially flooded time, Rooster shows a small triangle of dry land at the stairs. I think the water I deeper now.

Current is very strong west of pylon at rooster, especially by the shore/Oregon side. Couple that with dirtier wind and you screwed. Area area from Rooster is all private land. Drift launch from the stairs closest to the rangers' office.

Tues and wed look like coast or SI days to me after reading the forecast!

Stevenson was 10m until noon when it shut down abruptly. massive current didn't help. Rooster looked better even at 2 when I stopped by, but no beach or pilings to be seen.
