First time on the board, lost the center thruster fin Sad Just fell out. Now what? Anyone have any leads on where to buy a replacement in the US? Is this common? Should I have used locktite or something?

If these guys stock them, chances are your local Airush dealer can get them too.

If that's too pricey, try these classics on ebay.

I would suggest you give pepi at second wind a call to see if he might have some. I know we came across a boxful of fins, but I think they might be a little bit different fin base. you could probably get one to work with a little effort sanding it to fit, but I would call regardless because he also sells the sector boards.

www.gsport.com Bill is the man, and has all kinds of fins including out of date boxes that no one makes anymore. [url]www.gsport.com[url]

I run FCS fins in the mini tuttle boxes on my naish board. Opens up a lot more options.

I have a slayer that came with 2 slingshot mini turtle fins that I don't use.

So slingshot fins may work. If you are near Vancouver you could check them out. I may want to sell them too.

What size are the Slingshot fins? Are they flat on the inside foil?
I have an older Slingy surfboard that needs new Mini Tuttle fins.

Do you use the adapter from NSP or something else?

Just used them right in the boxes directly.. but maybe your boxes are different? I could have sworn I had mini tuttle boxes but I guess I could be mistaken.

Here is what the bottom of my board looks like, so those two side screws just "bite" right into the FCS fins, the tabs fit in perfect on the front and back so there is just open deadspace between them... if that makes sense. I believe it is a 2011 Naish Custom fish .

I guess maybe I am mistaken on those boxes...

It seams that slowly kite companies are begining to use traditional surf boxes (ie future/ FCS) since I believe north is running future boxes. I wish all kite companies would just use future or FCS - opens up so many possibilities for fine tuning the board to your style... and makes it a hell of alot easier to find replacement fins.

Here is what I have. I don't know anything about them. I may have lost an insert and screws.

Little more searching and that naish board of mine might have DFS fin boxes..... My mistake I guess...

As I said -they should all just go the way of the surf industry.

I guess from all of the buzz on this topic that I am not the only one that has issue with this. An FCS adapter kit for $25 does open up all sorts of inexpensive option but not for me. The fin I need is for a formula board and needs to be close to 17cm which is a large size you will never be able to find in FCS.

You might be able to find something by posting to a local windsurfing forum. CGWA has lots of old fins, although they're more likely the 2-screw Tuttle box. Swap meet sometime soon?

I'll look around as I may have one of those brass fittings in your picture - years ago I bought a kit to convert a favorite A-box fin to Powerbox for a Mistral board. I'll PM you if I find it. I know I came across it not long ago and debated tossing it out... just don't remember if I did or not.

Found this, not sure if it'll work for ya:

Or head over the pond:

Good Luck!

I'd recommend hitting Pepi up too. He not only sells the board, but I believe he rides it too. At the very least, he could set you on the right track.

I have bought a few mini-tuttle fins from these guys.

http://www.boylos.co.uk/products/list/windsurfing-equipment/windsurfing-fins

The Slingshot fins pictured above will work as well, but may not be as big as you want. The 14cm fins from this list are huge!

http://www.boylos.co.uk/products/view/k4-stubby-fins-14cm-mt

I wish all of my boards had these fin boxes. Although fins are not as common, these fin boxes are almost indestructible. Way stronger than anything else out there.
