When will the gorge be kiteable for mere mortals? I'm thinking water temp > 45 degrees. Anyone have a link to historical water temps for Hood River?

I need my fix!

In the meantime, it was practically tropical (by comparison) when I was at the shipwreck on Tuesday.

Go coastal...

Here's a daily average for about 18 years of data...

Thx Jeff!

Based on averages:
>45 on 3/29
>47 on 4/8
>50 on 4/23

Time to get the gear tuned!

As can be seen from the following link, the water temperature of the water is below average this year. Might take a little bit longer than your estimates reflect.

or a 2 year history:

Since We're sharing links....

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/or/nwis/current/?type=flow&group_key=basin_cd

Top level link to multiple sites (scroll down to until you find "Columbia River Mainstream".

Some of the sites have relevant additional data (Gauge Height, Stream Velocity) which is great for determining beach heights, and river current.

I just wish they had a good link for John Day Dam!!!
