There are 1600 acres of land east of Lyle waiting to be utilized for hiking , mountain biking and horseback riding. Help unlock the gateways! _________________ My wife kites more than me. |

it is because folks who do sports like, hike, bike, horse riding, xc ski don't appreciate having high speed noisy fossil jockeys whizzing by.
Dirtbikes also tend to do more trail damage. _________________ My wife kites more than me. |

Their aint much harder on a trail than horses, no doubt about it, and I would argue a dirt bike leaves a trail more bike rideable and hikeable than horses do. In my experience bikes make lines while horses make holes. Lines are better than holes. _________________ 1 OF 1 |

Interesting, we have the same problem in my neighborhood between xc skiers, back country skiing and snomobiles.... except the fossil jockeys actually pay for all the grooming.
Unfortunately the reason a lot of these projects end up dying is the starting of name calling like "fossil jockey."
Mabey if you included the people that arent just like you, they would be able to help get what everyone wants instead of just a certain group of people.
Its certainly better to go to battle with a army, then a small team of name callers. See the battle was loss by the spandex weilding grape smuggling fruit booters because they started name calling and couldnt work well with others. I being a xc skier, snowmobile owner and back county skier feel that the constantly bantering and name callers have actually done my local community harm. It has lowered our property values, devided friends and now everyone will be losing access.
Good luck with your projects, I filled out the survey and would love a new trail system, and look forward to seeing how this all goes.
Im sorry if I mis understood your comments about people that ride dirtbikes. Im sure im the only one offended by it. As for the fossil jockeys doing more trail damage... mabey in that 1600 acre proposal you could propose a junior motorcross track, or design one or two trails for them. It could help your cause. Fossil jockey was a term of endearment.
I have twisted throttles for years.
Also pole boarder, wind junkie, pedal head, river rat etc are other terms I use to describe sports enthusiasts. Tired of being politically correct.
Fire issues is another reason cited for motor exclusion.
Separation of use groups is under consideration. _________________ My wife kites more than me. |

Ahh 2 plankers, knuckle draggers, sled heads, snollerbladers amd the rest of the misfits thank you. As well I unfortunately have had to tone down my non political coreectness. So I appreciate where you comming from and thank you.
Fight the good fight and respect the landowners, they are the key to the future in access. |

The unfortunate thing about dirt bikers is that it only takes a couple douche bags who ride full throttle in wet conditions to completely destroy a trail. I have seen many a nice mountain bike trail nuked by roostertail-throwing jackasses like that. I personally like riding dirt bikes, too, but am not a fan of shared trails for motorized and non motorized uses. |

I think the key is including everyone and comming up with a plan. Cle elum wa is comming up with a plan to include all type of trail users. .... check it out.
I know that in our community that when the community bans together for a common ground that things get done.
We at one time had permission from the Forest service to have a couple of trails on the ski area. But mountain bikers, my self included, yet I didn't personally create the offence, starting building there own trails with out permission on the FS property. They were warned and then all access has been cut off to leased land.
I understand that this isn't the same. But land owners seem to be the key to your success. Good luck, let me know if you need anything and PM me if you have any questions about anything I could possibly help out with. |

Hiking, skiing, and mountain biking is the best adventure you can do in theat place. The recent case of Erik Prokopi, who smuggled dinosaur skeletons and sold them, is among the more notable instances of fossil smuggling. Believe it or not, there is a thriving underground for dinosaur bone fragments. |

I've been hiking, mt biking & x-country skiing those trails for 30 Years, so beautiful and peaceful. I live right there at the proposed trailhead. I MIGHT be for a non motorized trail system if treated with respect. Keep your noisy, polluting, land trashing, wildlife threatening vehicles in your own back yard where you would like them.
"Help the people of Lyle get permission to open more trails"? Who have you been talking too. I don't wanna have to put on the gloves. |

After this comment, I am more against it than before and will not spend another dollar in Lyle. _________________ MS |
