thinking about taking a multi-board bag to oahu next spring. i know its usually $100 charge especially on hawaiian air. do they ever charge per board? or is it just $100 for the bag as long as under 50 pounds?

never seen a per board charge. Just a bag charge with the weight being the issue. sometimes pay for overweight etc.

Saw a guy get nailed on US Air per board even though it was in one bag. $200 each board. Just one board in there thank you. Wink
This was a US to Mexico flight.
I flew US Air Mexico to US, 10 feet away they just went through the bag that had two twin tips, checked in and bag under 50lbs, no questions. As they say, keep under 50lbs and smile.

I think US Air has the most restrictive policies for extra gear so stay away if possible.

I realize you are flying another airline and suspect you will be fine, but people need to know about these guys, they don't want our business.

Alaska is $50 for a board bag- as long as it's under 50 pounds, no problem. I've flown with my 9' SUP and my kite board in the same bag numerous times.

Most expensive thing is the SUP bag.

Alaska is definitely the best, $50 under 50lbs and it doesn't matter how much you have in there (as it shouldn't)

or just rent. Went over last spring and rented boards for 5 days for $140. There's a shop right across street from Shark's Cove. we used new condition firewire boards for kiting and swapped out other boards for surfing depending on the break and swell. it's nice to have a full shop of boards to choose from, reduces skunk factor.
