Any onsite intel/report? I'm guessing its nuked out for most unless you have a 4.5, 5, or 6m
Anyone have a Corbett sensor reading? |

Found the pictures, see first post link. . . one of those days that Rooster is nuked out. If your jones’in for a session, one can point sail at Broughton Beach on Marine Drive. WATCH OUT for broken glass and other trash. And if you want to take an insurance claim, make sure to leave something visible in your car while your out kiting as some of the beach trash have legs and arms.
Broughton Beach can be the take-out for a downwinder on the Oregon side. The exciting part of the downwinder would be launching from the riprap rocky banks. Probably need a kite caddie and have someone hold the kite on top on the dike and have you being in the water. Don’t know of any sandy launches and or if Chinook boat landing would work. I think that boat ramp is like 181st/Blue lake.
I’ve point sailed before at Broughton beach, but have never done a downwinder and or went under the i-205 bridge before.

I am up for downwind or other launch site, but I am having harness issues.
Anyone want to downwind AND let me borrow a harness, or a spreader bar (mine has gone missing)?
My smallest is an 8m, so Rooster is out. _________________ Breathe, kite. |

Mon Nov 11, 13 12:59 pm Point sail or DW from RR to Corbett exit |
|

One more option guys. Usually this wind dies some right after the pylon on the west end of RR beach. One can either do a downwinder from RR down to Corbett street exit (there is both a on and off ramp there and overpass so it's very convenient for shuttling cars). There is a beach this time of year with the lower waters, west of the corbett overpass. Wind there will certainly less than RR. One can just point sail there if you wish. Nice shallow waters on the Washington side across from RR west end. Probably a 3 mile dw'er from RR to Corbett.
Have fun, too late for me at head out. |

Glad I chickened out and took Sass's advice. It got to 60+ at Rooster, while I was at Broughton Beach. Could have used more power on my 8m, but fun booted and then surf mini sessions. Had some yahoos with foil kite launch me and blew their fucking minds with my first backroll out.
Back to work. For the books: that's 3/last 4 weeks Monday Lunchbreak Sessions.
What an epic Oct/Nov we're having.
Hope you Home Valley DW crew had a good and SAFE time. _________________ surf the san juans |
