Beautiful bonus day! They will become more and more rare as we slide towards the edge of winter! My magical 8m Lithium was the ticket!

Clean wind, warm sun, big smiles and grassy launches.......so nice!

After the Gorge-Fest of available days to ride this summer still hoping October delivers at least a few more epic days. Moondogger, I bet you're over 100 sessions so far eh? Thumb's Up

Easterlies today and for the weekend so see you fellow addicts out there.

Last nights after work sesh was siiiiick! Great seeing all you out there and look forward to getting as much as I can in before winter sets in! Great wind too I thought.

Were any of you out there when that big ship heading west was blowing its whistle like crazy?! That was like one of the most beautiful scenes looking upwind at that ship and the Gorge with the sun setting on us. It was like heaven but there weren't many of us out there to see it but there were a few.

86 sessions so far in the gorge. Heard the paddle boat whistle at my house and the 5 barge horns warning of "imminent collision" what was that all about?

I don't remember seeing any barges last night, but the old school steam ship looking boat must have had a sensory overload or something because it looked like it was floating right into the sun and it was an incredible sight to see.

Me and the other kiters weren't getting too close or anything, and I didn't see any other boats or vessels out there. Maybe the sun was blinding the captains eyes? I'd like to think they were just as stoked as I was to recognize the beauty we were witnessing and wanted to lay on that whistle because they were stoked. I thought it was cool and I was hootin and hollerin as loud as I could back at em.

That's exactly what was going on K2. I think the boat was doing a stoke whistle in unison with the boosting. Smile Good times with the setting sun for sure.

Congrats Mooner! Great year.....and still going!

It never gets too cold to kite hood river. Seriously - if there is some wind in January you will see some foolios kiting that sh*t.

Problem isn't the temperature - its the wind. Wind doesn't blow all that much in the winter.

That's what it was: STOKE WHISTLE TOOT TOOOOOT!!! I don't know about maritime signals and how many toots on a horn means what or which way starboard is and if starboard has the right of way or if port does or if the windsurfer charging at me is going to turn or not... but I could tell that what I hear was a stoke whistle and it was stokin me out for sure!

I bet G-Man can tell ya about what time of year they cancel kiteboarding around here Laughing
