I downloaded that and my raw video even after editing is all choppy and super hard to edit in the GoPro software. I used PremierePro from Adobe and it has a lot more options of stuff to use and edit with. Its just a matter of actually being closer to the action...I doubt there is any "sharpening" tool that will avoid pixelation when zoomed in. Thanks for the advice though!

Nice Josh, that is some action packed content and it's cool the way you timed the biggest moves with the dub.
I didn't notice much pixilation (I didn't maximize it either) but that sort of washed out look reminds me of comparing my buddy's Hero 2 footage to my Hero 3 footage. Cineform does have some image controls and presets that help deepen the colors without losing brightness. Also rain-x or similar also help keeps those drop spots off the lens.
I mainly use Cineform just to get the files into a format my Sony Vegas 12 app can handle. It's also merges you're time lapse images nicely.
I checked out some of your other vids..I like your editing style. |

All,
Thanks for the tips and advice, I will def be using it in future videos. And as always an even bigger thanks for the props on the vids, its now becoming a new hobby that I'm very much enamored with. Thanks for the inspiration Stringy!!!
Also some more questions for advice...
I've been checking out quite a few videos and am wondering what settings or equipment folks are using to drive this quality of video...

I understand that this probably was not shot with a GoPro, however the other GoPro vids are very much up to that caliber...what are the actual "Pros" doing so different to get cinematic quality?

Oh and any suggestions for music to be dubbed in the background of videos?
Also, maybe its just me, but I want to venture into actual Kite-Music videos, where theres almost an actual plot and story with the action of kiting that is driven by the music. Vice just a series of clips of bad ass moves with some intense music dubbed in. Wanna get more creative to set myself apart from the herd...ya dig?
Cheers,
Josh |
