After Riding I have noticed the closure system is undone and just the ball is keeping in the air. I have noticed over time the hole in the Velcro is no longer snug around the plug, so that's a no brainier as to where the plug is escaping from. Probably have to crash pretty hard to defeat the stopper ball. Couldn't follow the problem you are experiencing (mine is obviously creeping senility).
