Would a 138 Slingshot Ignition kiteboard be a good high wind, rough water board for a 180 pound kiter? |

Its a decent board for that. A better choice for high speed chop killing is the F-One trax. I have an ignition too. Just got a trax 8 and it has blown me away, eats up chop for breakfast and handles any speed I can go. Love it for these coastal choppy days like yesterday. Was to ruff to ride my slingshot surf board. But this trax is soo smooth and easy on the knees. I demo'd it last year and it hooked me. |

I have an ignition 138x42.5 it is a fine board, I am lighter than you and it is my big board, you should be fine on it. I also just got a 2012 trax 136x41 and it is better for my everyday board @ 170 lbs, but the bottom shaping is magic and noticeably smooths out chop, loving it. The older ignitions were narrower 40cm and still good boards. Enjoy your new ride! |
