Sun Jun 02, 13 10:55 pm Thank you for the rescue |

Just wanted to say a thank you to Scott(?) and his Dad for the jet ski rescue Saturday evening at Wells Island.
Also a big thanks to my buddy Ken "Leave no wingman behind" Carosella for trying to spin my kite back up into the air when I couldn't relaunch it.
I was on my way back downwind from the Hatchery when I came across Ken trying to help another kiter who's kite was down in the water. I gave it a couple of tries relaunching his kite before I accidentally dumped my kite and then could not relaunch. We both drifted a ways while rolling up our gear when the jet skis came to our rescue at Wells Island.
I am very appreciative of our local kite community who always seem to be looking out for each other.
Thank you _________________ Pure Stoke Sports

Pepi.......I am still bummed I could not get your kite back in the air but thanks for stopping your downwinder to help assist with the late evening carnage. Way cool as always.
Also, kudos to the guys in the sailboats and jet ski's helping pull guys out of the water or off of Wells Island. I dragged another guy over to Wells but his hands were so toast he couldn't hang on to my harness very well.
One thing I noticed this past weekend is it seemed a lot of people spent way to much time in the water before they decided to self rescue. Everybody goes through the "learning curve" but guys if you're floating for 10-15 minutes start thinking about packing it up and grabbing a wingtip to get back to shore because not everybody will be able to come and get you. |

Saturday at Stevenson I crash my kite hard, inverted it and got separated from my board. Some good folks got my board back to me and helped me get back to shore with out incident.
It's awesome that we all keep an eye out for each other and come to assist when possible.
Thanks Dern for getting my board, the next Stout float at Big Horse is on me.
Thanks Dangler for loaning me the surf so I could get out to my board when it drifted away in the current after Dern dropped it off. Whats your brand of choice I owe ya a 6 pack for that and the help with figuring out proper launching technique at Stevenson.
An thanks to Hanna and Chuck (I think its chuck I am bad with names) for the toe back in after I got to my board and shoulder were on fire from paddling.

considering all the kite karma you have in the bank for all those wave runner rescues at Jones - I think you still have a positive balance........... |

Yeah I think I am still in debt from all the board saves last year when I couldn't jump for sh*t. And that jetski rescue at the Ponds a few weeks ago after the line break. I think your karma bank is still pretty cushy. |
