I kited the north coast yesterday, and seem to have lost a chunk of my brain in the process. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What is it about the coastal winds?
I was mentally alert and conscious for most of the day. I did a downwinder from Sunset to Seaside with some other kiters in the afternoon, and after that my memory gets fuzzy. I only had a couple of bevs post session. And some Chinese food. Next thing I know I’m waking up back in Portland and having no recollection of where I left my wetsuit and booties. Was it an MSG overdose? Sand in the ears? Too much kiting for one day?
Now I’m back at work all day and can’t even think about calls and meetings. I see waves and kites. What is the treatment protocol?

First day is always the worst.
I think its the sudden combined decrease of therapeutic blood levels of kiting stoke, THC, and alcohol.

That happens all the time
Sometimes we forget to even drive back home
and other times might not make it a whole session without forgetting to tack back to the beach - though I think Dangler holds the official record

I survived w/no affects...perhaps the 2nd dw'er from Sunset to Seaside put balance back in my day? Fun day for sure. Readings at the Columbia spit yesterday were tasty! Get some!
