I have been on a month long road trip from northwest michigan with the plan of snow kiting my way through. Just my luck, I find either no wind or no snow everywhere I have been. Consequently, I had to go to the gorge. I didn't plan on hitting the water, so I find myself a little under-power with a 10m being my biggest kite, and I am bigger guy (210 lb); and lacking my board.

Any tips on where to ride, wind reports, board?

Saturday should be good 20+ from Hood River (Event Site) to out east (Rufus). 10m will be plenty. I unfortunately, don't have an extra board for you.

Weather forecast:

PS: I grew up in TC and will be back there for a week or so this summer (early August) and plan on bringing my kites. Where do you usually kite in/around TC? I know all the windsurfing spots but not the kiting spots.

Saturday should be plenty windy East of Hood River.
(Rowena, Rufus, Roosevelt)

EASTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE
.SATURDAY...PARTLY CLOUDY. WINDY. HIGHS 58 TO 63. WEST WIND 15 TO
20 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS INCREASING TO 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO
AROUND 45 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

One of the shops in Hood River should be able to set you up with a demo board.
A good wetsuit may be harder to borrow if you don't have one for the 50 degree water.

Hey NWKiters, thank you for your replies, however, they were written by an impostor!
My brother, Joe "Windmill" Miller, not only stole my new kites for his expedition, he evidently stole my NWKite user info! The nerve?! Very Happy

I can assure you of two things,
1. I would never write "I 'had' to go to the Gorge"!
2. I ain't on any month-long roadtrip!
I am stuck teaching a Captain's License class in Chicago. Also, I busted my hip, scapula, and 4 ribs a couple of months ago. So I am just recently off the couch here.

Skent, you give me a call when you get around NW Michigan again. We will rip it up.
Here is my hobby business site - www.lakeeffectkite.com

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
