Hi,
I pretty much only ride my strapped directional now (SS Pit 5'6"), which I boost and surf. I like the floaty, surfy feel way more than my North Jaime 132 twintip. I would like to add a twin tip or a mutant to my quiver but not sure what direction to go in. Basically I want a twintip or mutant that has some floaty-ness and surfy-ness to it but that can still boost and pop well. I am 6'1" and 190lbs. I think my Jaime is too small for me, which is why I never ride it. I have ridden the SS Fuse and liked it but they do not make it anymore. I have ridden the Ocean Rodeo Mako but didn't like the lack of pop or boost-ability to it. Any thoughts?

the mako can still be boosted.
yes its a little bit tougher to load it up, but once you get used to it, it still jumps fine.
if you want a "surfy" feel TT, you won't go wrong with the larger mako sizes.
I'd suggest looking at the mako king, or even the woodie makos made in the gorge.

I have a few of those boards listed by Stringy and a Fuse. 
The SS Fuse (149 or 152) is really fun and usually priced right when they pop up for sale because it fits a weird niche.
The Mako (150), play with the fin size, but exactly what Stringy said you can load it and boom.
Make King (165x45) Crazy fun chop eater and easy on the knees. Long session board. I don't like the delam issues, I have a late 2009, but newer ones are supposedly fine.
Bellacera (166/47 ish) My favorite. Exact same weight and ride benefits of the King but better everything. (Fin placment, response, pads, attention to detail and the float on it is almost laughable....plus it's a piece of art you can ride. Only Gorge ridden so far but cannot wait to send it Coastal.
For the fun factor the Mako is a solid mutant that fits between your current twin and Pit when you want to mix it up. Bellacera also makes a 150 version of the Mako that would be worth researching.

I currently have a 5'8" Celeritas, 150 Mako, 136 North Jaime. I find myself going back to the Mako all the time. Mutant set up is a blast. It's definitely my favorite board.

| I'm a newb but I see a fuse is on ebay for $125. There's also a mako classic 150x34 for $295. Wondering if this is too narrow. What width is your's? |
