Times change. Looking to move on from current Dr group of last 25 years, we need:

1. Excellent docs

2. Family and sports med excellence ( I have two kids in contact sports)

3. Great communication

4. Ability to get an appt quickly, and at extended hours. Willingness to return phone
calls and possibly rx over phone in a pinch

5. In Hood River, or White Salmon

PM's only, please

Thanks Much
Eric Cohn

This doesn't exist. Lower your expectations to one of the above, and I can PM you.

Agreed, but you may need to move to Bend or Vail for that list. Wink

It did exist up until about three years ago. Not ready to throw in the towel yet.

Hmmm - I wonder what happened three years ago to change medical care????????

• Although the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) was signed into law in 2010, the health care reforms it enacts roll out year by year until 2022. Many of the biggest reforms don't kick in until 2014. Find Out More About ObamaCare Benefits and Services

Government telling doctors how to do their jobs will tend to make them less personable. They are only human - they can only do so much in one day.

In response to more and more regulations on doctors from government and insurance companies telling doctors how to treat their patients - "concierge medical practices" have cropped up around the country to give patients healthcare the way it used to be in the old days. Pay a membership - and the doctor treats the patients how they see fit. No government - no insurance.

but Blaze... you still have to have insurance due to obummercare.... Even if you can afford catastrophic insurance + concierge, you still have to pay for full coverage medical...

Gotta love being told you have to have something while they exempt themselves out of it.

Not saying that you can escape Obama care- just saying where you will find the customer service things Eric wants in healthcare. Obamacare is changing the healthcare market for better or worse - I will not argue which. Each person can decide for themselves. I prefer to just focus on kiting! Smile

More oversight complication and regulation with additional middlemen lining additional pockets is always a way to save some bucks right.

Your new full time 30 hour work week will create more jobs though by spreading the wealth and making everyone a bit poorer.

It is almost impossible to find a true GOOD general family practice doc in Eugene , I cannot imagine the hood river deal.

Good luck.......................

The best health care is our diet and exercise with some happiness in abundance ... Enjoy it.
