Mon Apr 01, 13 3:05 pm Recomendations for Tuesday |
|
|
Hi guys. I have my nephew in town for a few more days and wanted to introduce him to kiting (only out of the water for now). It looks like HR sandbar might work for tomorrow but the forecast seems to be fading. Any recommendations for a decent place to teach out of the water tomorrow (coast...out east)? |

HR sandbar looks the best at the moment, jones beach and coast look light on the wind. |

the upper wind ridges get pretty flat the next couple of days. best chance might be out east with the warming up but that still does not look good. Wed appears to warm even more with a flatter ridge before the westerlies and wind return. I want to kite wednesday but it is not looking good. Jones is firing today and we only have a 9 degree temp diferential!!!! |

You're talking about flying a trainer kite - right?
Please, don't ever let a "newbie" fly a real kite on land.
Too many people have ended up in the hospital that way. |

Thanks guys. HR was actually really nice Tuesday. Got plenty of riding in and my nephew got some experience flying on an uncrowded sandbar.
BTW I don't see an issue with teaching a 245lbs kid to fly a 7M kite in 12M wind on the beach with carefull supervision. |

Nice. I saw you guys down there having fun and yes....that kid was going nowhere.
I love how safety bob's throw up guidance but don't know the details. 2-line kites are fun for about 5 minutes and teach nothing but wind window and how to untangle a foil kite. Yeah!!!!!! |

I'm only interested in this because his name is "Gator". Be careful with that, as there is a wallygator around here who will shut you down! _________________ CGKA Member
