Hi folks,
I am new to the forum and relatively new to the sport. Was wondering if someone could enlighten me. How is kiting scene in Alaska? I am preparing for a move from the east coast and looking to start a career hopefully where I could kite (a lot).

Thanks.

Look at kite Alaska and related on Facebook, that's where we communicate most. Alaska kiting is as good as anywhere in the world minus waves which is infrequent. Summer is consistent 6-8-10m.

Thanks. How many days of kiting do you guys get there on average a year? How long does summer last for? And pardon my ignorance.

In the summer we generally have been able to kite 4 days a week in Turnagain.
Average 30/35 mph winds. Seward and Homer also have a good record. Nothing much on the interior and everything else except for a few spots in the south east (Juneau/Haines) and south west (Aleutians) is null.

You can see pics of the past few summers and winters at http://www.danslife.net
The AKO facebook site and the Alaska Kiters sites on facebook are really good resources (although I'm not on FB anymore).

When you make the move up - hit me up.

There is quite a bit of video of kiteboarding and snowkiting in Alaska - here is an edite we put together from last summer around July.

Your website is beautiful. Very well done. I spent the last couple hours on it and bookmarked it too. Thanks for the info. I will be in touch.
