Looks like they are living a great life.
Boracay is an amazing place, I'm looking forward to going back. Cost and time to get there is high, so plan to stay a while, once you are there things can be pretty reasonably priced (or full resort prices). Certainly one of my favorite spots. _________________ www.cautionkites.com

tough to go all the way to boracay when SPI or maui are cheaper to get to and not that much more expensive to stay at. |

Actually I think for the same level of accommodations in Boracay it will be much cheaper, especially if you like good food. I can live like a king in Boracay for about $45 a day (including a good quality 1 hour daily massage), plus I can leave Boracay and drop that to about $25, drop that to about $15 if I live on the cheap. In SPI I couldn't share a room at a hotel or couch surf for that (and I wouldn't even get a daily massage). _________________ www.cautionkites.com

I guess when I went to boracay I stayed in a more expensive place. I stayed in the 7 stones and it was about 250/night. Food was running about $10/person just for dinner, but we were paying for my wifes family in the philippines too (6 adults total). Plane tickets are usually around $800, but seem like about $1200 now. For me that is about $2500 in plane tickets, and about $300/day in food and accommodations. Maui has comparable tickets and costs about the same per day (except the massages which I agree are cheap in asia). |

KMG - Actually no happy endings unless you count a sound two hour nap after kitesurfing and before going out for the night. Not real fond of that stereotype although I'm know full service was available just not from the masseuses. In my experience if your single (or not) and have a smidgen of game it would be hard not to have a girlfriend by your second or third night.
achen - You definitely stayed at a high end resort, although you could have spent much more. I knew of other kite surfers staying in bamboo and mosquito net rooms for as little as $8 a day. I stayed in a air conditioned bungalow for about $20 a night, w/ breakfast brought to me for another $2.

I brought my own kites, but Isla Kitesurfing hooked me up with everything else I needed including storage, lunch, a bicycle, and mango smoothies.
