A finishing pump is simply the same pump but only single action ( down stroke ) which makes it easy on your back. |

When it gets closer to the end I fiind pulling up is easier than pushing down. Pulling up I can use my quads - sort of like a dead lift. But pushing down - there is nothing anchoring me - I can't use any major muscle - just my weight. _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

Anyone ridden a SUP / ISUP with a Kite??

Just figured I'd throw that out there... Seems fun for about 1 tack. But maybe if it's blowing like 6 mph in a bay? |

Ya, it's fun. Good to do on tiny wave coast days when light. New set of skills getting a big board around, fun to tack it. I always thought those FOne two line kites they were making for this would be cool to have. Not sure they make them anymore. |

I could see how it would be fun on the coast.

However, I tried my isup at Floras lake when it was blowing pretty light. I had a hell of a time getting on the board. I struggled a sh*t ton. Finally got on the board. Tacked once and that was about it. 14m kite and an isup is not so much fun on flat water. _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

we messed around a few times on the SUP - it seemed that the 7' longboard was more fun to tool around on for us in super light wind

was fun/challenging to get going on a sup in superlight wind - better sport with a peanut gallery rooting against you _________________ Go Deep!

30 is pretty super narrrow, i think you should go a lot wider

10 ish feet by 32-33 wide, and a bunch of rocker

longer isnt stabler, wider is. shorter and more rocker is better in short steep SPI waves for sure. _________________ PROKITE LESSON CENTER

That was a good video and really good advice about the spreader bar. I don't think I can get on board saying... "I SUK". HA! When there is light wind here and people are bored to death, they may play around with a kite & a SUP since it is so shallow. Personally, I'd rather jump on a windsurfer and see if I still have some skills left. I hate big kites. However, I was on a 17.....yes a 17 and it was fun for a few tacks.

I went to our local shop yesterday to look for an ocean SUP...they only had one board. Sad. I'm going to have to cross my fingers that I pick a good one and have it shipped. Ugh. _________________ Be kind to Kooks |

I think the SUK set up looks like a good choice for when the winds are in the mid teens or something. Maybe with a 9m and short lines, so not exactly what he describes but close enough.

I agree big kites are sort of a drag. (ha)

Haven't tried it myself, was hoping to inspire one of you guys. |

Then try to ride a baby wave after some skill has been developed. Thinking about getting the Slingshot Pickle. The others that I read about on SUP JOURNAL are: Pau Hana Oahu - nose rider and the Jimmy Lewis Maestro.

I have a flat water race board already but too delicate to put through the waves.

I thought all SUP's were Ocean compatible.. _________________ www.youtube.com/c/christianjohnsons |

The racer boards are sturdy enough. It's the rider/board combination that isn't neccesarily ocean compatible. |

Simply the best SUP's, but pricey.

If you wanna get a board that is small, shaped well, and fun get one of these. I rode several while in Maui and they are just amazing shapes.

If money is a major issue but you still want a decent board try
