I have got unreal windsurfing equipment that is all dated about 1998 to 2000. I thought I would be a dual sport guy when I first started kiting back at the millenium, but kiting took over and I have used my windsurfing equipment about half a dozen times in 12 years since switching teams. Mostly when old windsurf buddies who have not started kiting came to visit so I thought it would be fun to ride like them for a day. It was ok, but I would much rather have been kiting!

Anyways, it is all great windsurf gear which includes 2 boards, 6 sails, 2 masts, 3 booms, and all the other assessories and stuff to be a complete pole boarder. I want to now unload as a complete package.

Any ideas on how to sell the whole meal deal, I don't want to piece it out. Just one buyer for the entire mess. Are there any good windsurf forums or other sources to possibly find the lucky windsurfer to score this load of awesome gear at an unreal price?

Yes, I know I should have done this long ago...

Question Question Question

Mine keeps my Sims alpine snowboard and Dynastar 205s company in the corner of my basement. If I ever got rid of that stuff other stuff would be lonely. I also built a cool teepee out of my masts and sails for my kids one day. Seriously it was really cool to hang out in.

You could try on Craigslist or i-windsurf... I wouldn't be inclined to sell the stuff too cheaply... windsurfing gear has gotten very expensive. If the gear you have is quality stuff, and in good shape, its still going to be worth something. I empathize though... I too have windsurfing gear that just isn't getting to the water... used it twice last season, it sucked both days and I kited after each session. Still, I might try and make it over to the Hatchery or Swell City this season when the wind is right... come to think of it though, that's what I said last year....

I took a whole bunch of stuff to Winddance...circa 2002-2004 in new condition.

The board and the masts were the only things they would take on consignment and not for much. The practically new Ezzy Wave sails went in the donation bin.

Crying or Very sad

Windsurfing been around for ever...the sails look the same to me. I don't get it.

I tried to sell my stuff at the Windance gear swap. I sold a few items for dirt cheap but could not get rid of the sails. I finally gave them away to to a college kid who had no money. I figured it was better they get used than sit in my garage for another 10 years.

I see you mentioned you dont want to part it out. My son is in high school and broke as all kids and is trying to get his quiver of windsurfing gear together. If you are not sold on keeping it together let me know and maybe my son could use some of the stuff. Due to some life decisions the only thing he has to look forward to is quality time on the water!!

Yeah, the swap meet pretty much sucks... its just all the blow hards from i-Windsurf kicking tires, and if they are going to buy something, they want it for nothing. Meanwhile, there are guys buying gear from 1980's for hundreds of dollars, and think they've totally scored.

E-bay is another possibility. With windsurfing gear, selling it as a complete package is a good idea. As soon as you part it out, it gets cherry picked. Transport to selling location is another challenge. In the Gorge... people see your gear as worthless. In a place like Alberta, it would sell in a quick minute as there are pretty much no windsurfing shops there. If I were you, I'd post on Calgary & Edmonton's Craig's list in the spring/summer, and tell potential buyers to meet you in the Gorge so they can combine the gear purchase with a windsurfing trip.

If they'll take it, you could donate to the CGWA and take the write off.

My kids did the groms program this summer and had a blast.
