Those guys must be glutens for punishment. A simple check of the tide book could have prevented that whole scenario. Don't try to cross the bar on a strong outgoing tide and heavy seas, duh!

Here is a link to a news report about those two boats. It says the river was running faster due to heavy rainfall the day before, and both boats had to come in to deliver their fish:

that is just crazy !!!!!! I spent two days on the fishing boat in 20 foot swell and that was insane ! Shocked ! the captains of this boats had some balls !!!don t judge them . They work hell a hard for their pay check !!!

This is very true. Fisherman take big risks to make their money. I guarantee that these guys know the limits of their boats and had done this before to some degree.

My boat was 32x14 with a planing hull. When I was running in following seas I could surf the waves. It would always feel a bit weird to be running a boat that steers like a pig and feel the speed surge from catching a wave.
