Well,,, been a Rebel rider since 08' but have sold them all and am ready to gear up again.. Loved the Reb's and would certainly ride them again... but have my eye on the Switchblades. Anyone have any feedback on a comparison of the two..

I ride here in the gorge and Ventana on twin tip and surfboard. wont be hitting up the OR coast much if at all...

thanks for any knowledge!

talk to TJ at Big Winds, 541-386-6086. He has the most knowladge on those two kites side by side of anyone I know. He should be able to help you there.

Just a reminder that brand versus brand or kite comparison discussions are not allowed on NW Kite.

I 2nd Snowsurfs comment about asking TJ.. BW is both a North and Cabrinha dealer, so they should be able to give you an even review of both kites without any bias.

For reals?

IMHO - The north rebel is a solid kite, but you'll have to deal with the 5th line, which has its pros and cons. The rebel is fun for freestyle, pretty sure I haven't boosted higher on any other kite for it's size. Switch blades are sweet too but a little slower good for waves and unhooked. The 2012 switch blade bars seem to be over engineered, hopefully they will simplify for 2013.

I Hope that helps, it's hard picking a kite. My fav "swiss army knife kite" is still the Slingy RPM, so many settings you can rig it for how you want to ride for different sessions, be it freestyle, surf style, or wake style. Only con I can think of is it's tricky to relaunch in light winds.
