I know most of the kite community might be turned off by the thoughts of snow, but we are hosting this event this Saturday as a way of offering for the Snow Gods.
Here's the details.

**** "PRAY FOR SNOW" PARTY / BONFIRE / CAMPOUT *******

WHEN : Saturday evening Oct 14 - From 6pm-Overnight

WHERE : Laurence Lake - just south of Parkdale(North side of Mt Hood)

WHY : To make the proper offerings of sacrifice to the Snow Gods
(ie-getting a little intoxicated and tossing some skis/snowboards
into the bonfire, and Sudsy into the lake if he's a wiseass).

WHO :Your fine 2nd Wind Sports crew and anyone who
wishes to join us in this fine act of sacrifice for a killer snow year.
Erica and I will be bringing our daughter, so other like minded
parents are welcome to bring the familia.

WHAT : Bring tent(or van), food, bevvies, firewood and friends.
(We'll break out the handcrank blender and yukka jar for mixing
some potent beverages)

can you throw a dash of prayer in for warm wind?

Like maybe two weeks of warm wind and the butt loads of snow.

The way the weather has been this week in the Gorge, your prayer request might be a good one to consider.

BTW - sounds like some participants are rounding up a keg for this event (I'll find out tomorrow ). So we may want to have a good turnout so that I don't have to embarrass myself by having to return a half emptied keg.

We have some fliers at the shop with the posted directions. Looks to be good weather for us over the weekend, plus some decent westerly winds.

Well, our prayers brought instant rain, but according to the weather forecasts, the snow is now on the way (at least at the 5000' level).

Thanks to all that attended the pray for snow bonfire party, as well as to celebrate Suds' birthday. We definitely had a kick-ass time up at Laurence Lake. This is definitely an annual event to be looked forward to for next year.

A special thanks to those that helped clean up the burnt ski/snowboard debris in the morning.

We'll be working on a good place to host a Pray for Snow party this Spring.
Anyone have any suggestions?
