I wonder that the R&D budget is on this project. I bet it was a fairly costly to get 4 knots of bragging rights over a kite boarder.

What cracks me up is how much $ is being put into making the world's oldest means of travel faster. To bad they're not sinking this type of $ into making better renewable energy sources. |

That sail doesn't seem that big...must be really efficient. There's another video of that thing crashing on a previous attempt.
Sorry to see the kite record go, but setting records in that man-made ditch at Luderitz always seemed a little cheaty. |
