Anyone think the east winds might fire enough tomorrow for a rooster session?

Late October, sunny and great wind forecast... The wind gods are not pleased with your comment. Be exceptionally happy with what you are given. As high priest of the wind god "Eurus" I hereby decree that you must either cut a finger off of your left hand and sacrifice it to Eurus, or you must bring beer for everyone that shows up to honor Eurus and partake in his divine goodness at Rooster. Otherwise you risk his wrath. You shall be skunked all week on your next three kiteboarding vacations if you fail to appease Eurus. Beware the wrath of Eurus!!!

Looks like the gods were not too angry and they delivered. 29-38 avg 33 right now to start off. Beer will not be needed to pass time but small kites will:-) probably roll in around noon:-)!!!

Now that the human forcasts are over for the season with ikitesurf I feel lost regarding planning my future kiting events.

What are the tells you guys looked at to know it was going to rip at Rooster today?

Just look at the windbow, it will give you a pretty good gauge to whats going to happen.

I'm selling a brand NEW 2012 Liquid Force Envy complete for $600. Perfect for those 40mph++ days at Rooster. Who wants it!?

Well a start would be to watch channel 2, 6, 8, or 12 news on TV. . . about 15 minutes or so into the 1/2 news program, the weather person comes on and tells the forecast. When he or she says that east winds are going to be present in the Western Gorge, then Rooster is probably going to blow. Whatever they say, it probably is going to be stronger at Rooster as the basalt cliffs that jet out into the river on the Washington side form a 1/2 of an hour glass shape; an effect from this is increased wind speeds.

The window works, too. Here are a couple of others.

The downwinder into Rooster was about as good as it gets yesterday.

8m from 3:00pm

Gotta love those rack O' ribs sandbars on the way down ...

The gorge at it's finest !
