Anyone nutty enough to try and kite Sellwood "beach", this evening with me?
Super windy for the Willamette.
Why shouldn't I... _________________ Take the red pill... |

Seems like the wind dropped a bit. Maybe if I'll throw my gear in the car and go straight there from work tomorrow.. _________________ Take the red pill... |

Let me know if you're going tomorrow... I live close by and wouldn't mind seeing if you can pull it off. Does anyone ever go to that beach right by the airport? Lots of glass, but other than that, looks very doable. |

i remember someone a couple years ago posting about this, said they took a beat down. If RR and coast weren't going off and sellwood was the only place to kite, well, ya know......Id tap that. But.........................theres good ridin' to be had at known good spots. |

We kited Marine Dr. today. Sort of. At about 138th there is a rocky piece of beach.
Rode some sweet wind there last year.
Today however sucked large.
NE at the shore means seriously up and down. SSW at the event site is a picnic comparatively.
8-30 kts. With a few seconds in between.
Glad to get in and get the kite down.
Sellwood looked even more up and down. Nice for a sailboat and some cheese and crackers. |
