We are going to Mui Ne, Vietnam in November. I am an intermediate / advanced kiter and will rent gear. For the best kiting should I stay on a south facing beach or an east facing beach? Does anyone have recommendations for accommodations or gear rentals.
Thanks
Pat

I stayed there at "the sailing club". Storm kiteboarding is the shop there. Both were fine and on a good part of the beach. The hotel is mello..there are bungalows and one set of traditional rooms. Nothing over two story. Run by a French couple I think. The pool and bar are on the beach. Everyone was friendly. Food was great. Rooms are very nice. Gear was slingshot I think but that was several years ago. You can rent at very fair rates. If you can just bring your kite(s) and rent boards which are very cheap. You can walk to many restaurants. There are two ocean front bungalows if you want to always watch the wind. Anyway wind comes up around 11am every day. I was there in March (end of season) with wind every day. I think November is the start of the good season.

If you get up really early you can watch the fishermen with traditional nets and one guy floating in a basket. They haul in their catch and will sell right there if you want to cook something yourself.

there is also an great spa about ten minutes away in an old colonial era building facing the sea.

The locals always say there are no jelly fish but I got a nasty sting which left big scars all over my arm. I recommend long sleeve rash guard to minimize your chance of getting unlucky. vinegar is remedy

I can't remember where we stayed, but the bungalows were great and the conditions were super friendly for kiting. You'll have a great time.
