[Just changed the thread name, so just ignore the 2nd comment] Looking at a used wikipia matrix 11m from 2005. Havent heard much about them and cant really find any info on them. Anyone have any experience with the matrix or wikipia? Its either that or a n Airush DNA 6m 2010 kite. I would be flying in about 12+ knots.
Thanks

Well, I found a rental place but Im going to go with the crowd and take lessons and then buy a kite after I learn to do all that stuff. If anyone wants the rental place, its:

Your kite questions sound like you haven't taken lessons yet young grasshopper but since you're ready to buy a kite you must have "learned to do all that other stuff" right?

Buy the Airush. Buy a helmet. Take more lessons.....or at least take a lesson.

You do realize how different those two kites are dont you? If not, you need to take the time to better educate yourself on the sport or find someone you can pay to do so!

I do realize how different they are. I just wanted to know if Wipika is a good brand since I think they stopped making stuff.

Please don't learn on a Wipika. The industry has moved forward quite a bit since then. If possible a 2008 or newer kite would be best and should be available for quite cheap.

2003 wipika hydro was one of the best kites ever made. torquey, grunty, mack truck kinda power, with a solid feel and good response

Yeah, I'm that kid. Lessons were great, I learner on a private little beach that was about 15 knots. The instructor was new to being a instructor. He was pretty hard to understand though, all he could really say was "ruff" and "bark".

Stoked on the stoke belt sander kid

I've got a 12m wipika and an airush bar for you that I'm bringing down this weekend
It's all yours for a case of beer or an equivalent

I just want to make sure your setting it up safe and basically have an understanding of kite control before you pull yourself into a barge

Gimme a shout this weekend 7786889182
