| Also could you use a windsurf harness for kiteboarding? I have one from the 90s |

They are different, mainly the spreader bar. I've seen people use kitesurfing harnesses for windsurfing but not the other way around.
Also the newer ones are way more comfortable. You gotta realize with a kite you're constantly hooked into the pull where as a windsurf only when you are cruzing do you usually hook in. |

| Oh, also last question., I would like to bring kiteboarding to school and do a science fair project on it, any ideas? I'm going into 8th grade, but my dad and windsurf neighbors can also help me for hthat hard stuff |

good physics involved in kiteboarding. here are just a few i could come up with off the top of my head.
- drag from wind blowing at the canopy (it in the power zone)
- lift created from the kite being in motion (basically it's a big wing and thats why you see us pumping it in figure 8's in wind luls)
- tension in the line (force)
- apparent wind (caused by being in motion adding lift to the kite, opposite force from edging and current of the water)
- Gravity (jumps) and counter acting with lift from the kite (flying it overhead)
- jumping with a pop instead of boost (boost is using the lift of the kite to jump)
- kite sheeting in and out to adjust the amount of lift being created by the kite |

There was a recent discussion on how much force a kite can generate. So buy your self a trainer and do some tests. Compare it with what the physics say it should be. You can use a video camera and trig to estimate kite speed and maybe a fish scale to measure force. |
