I've been trying to boost bigger airs and I'm trying to figure out how to land softly when you go really high.
Is it best to keep the kite directly overhead at 12? Or do you wave it back and forth to generate some vertical lift as you're gliding downward?
Any other recommended techniques? |

My 2 bits..Keep the kite straight up and even a little back until you start your decent, then pull forward pretty agressively. You should feel a floaty lift as you bring it down and land with speed.
Also, think about how your sheeting the kite while in the air. Depending on how your tuned, either pulling in on the bar or letting it out can choke off your power. |

what slither said+
to rotate the wing,
on decent sheet out momentarily and just before landing sheet in quickly
same as landing a glider |

If it is gusty, I would definately sheet out while in the air. This weekend I went pretty big on a gust and then the wind just DIED. Having the ability to
yard on the bar and decrease my descent rate at the last minute helped allot.
Have fun! |
