haha

I've been wanting to learn how to kite ever since I moved back into the states from Hawaii, I saw a ton of friends kiting, I couldn't afford it at the time.. I kind of can now though. I saved up for months, got a kite & a board, I think I'm ready to hit the water.

I've read post after post & watched video after video pertaining to the dangers of kiteboarding having not used an instructor. If I save more money now, I'll have enough for a lesson at the end of summer. That's just, frustrating, seeing as I want to use the equipment I have now.

If you were in my position, what would you do? Having all the knowledge you have, could you recommend a way to get me out kiting as soon as possible?

Nobody here will suggest you go out and play with a big kite by only watching videos/reading about it. It's a completely different experience than even flying a large trainer kite.

Read through this: http://nwkite.com/forums/t-26403.html If you haven't already.

Continue to save for the lessons, well worth the wait for your own safety and others around you.

Put your lessons on your credit card. I saw top gun, it doesn't mean I'm qualified to fly F-14s. Without lessons you will be endangering access to local launches people have worked hard to secure. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear.

If you are an attractive female you should have no problem finding some volunteers. If not contact Jim Bison at New Wind and sign up for his fast track lesson package. BE SAFE!
