Just a friendly reminder that the Event Site is reserved specifically for the CGWA WINDFEST DEMO DAYS EVENT on both Sat/Sun July 7-8 this weekend.

This is the annual demo days event that the CGWA has been running for over 10 years now and is nothing new.
Since this event only has insurance coverage specifically for windsurfing and suping, they are unable to allow any kiteboarding access during the specifically reserved time frame in which they are in charge.

Sooooo, we'll mention it again.
ALTERNATIVE LAUNCH LOCATIONS FOR KITEBOARDING ARE :
http://nwkite.com/forums/t-26465.html
Hood River Sandspit -
The Original Hood River Kite Beach located just east of the Event Site and accessed via drivwaybehind the gas station and the dirt road out to the water.
Spit Host, A-Train, will be glad to welcome you and help give you tips on how to use the launch and advice on water conditions. This is a super quick launch access point during highwater.

Hood River Marina Beach -
Kiteboard gear is not allowed on the Grass (this is for sunbathers). Pumping and drying must be east of all sunbathers/swimmers - this is a sensitive launch area and our continued access is dependent upon our safety and courtesy record there with the other recreational users.
This has been a primary launch for the slider/skim/butter crews and is the alternate launch for all kiteboarders during highwater or beach closures

Due to the fact that the CGWA has been a very strong supporter of the ever developing shared access a the Event Site, we think it would be in our best interest to give a good showing of respect for this non-profit fundraiser/demo event by steering clear of the Event Site and using our other two large and never crowded launch spots.

Thank you for your support
