Who is interested in doing a downwinder from Rowena to SS?
Saturday
Sunday

Agenda,

Launch at Rowena
Ride to Dougs
Through Rugs
past buoy
Land at SS

then get a ride back to Rowena

No ticket, no problems, and then follow up with a bbq and look at your pictures that I take from my jet ski?

How about it!?

Ron

I'd love to try to do it, but I have to watch both my kids on Saturday, and Sunday is fathers day so I have to go have a bbq with my father and father-in-law.

The following weekend is my birthday and I'll be kid free all weekend.

Can we do it next Sunday after fathers day. Working this weekend and would not want to miss a catered opportunity like this one. Sounds like a sweet trip!!

I got out and cruised the whole area this past Sat. and Sunday. I've done this down winder before and it's a blast in lighter winds 20mph average or so is perfect.

Probably the best swell on the whole trip is Doug's Beach and then Rugs. When I go through I try to yield to all the windsurfers because they have to set up, work hard, to catch and ride the waves.

Email me to coordinate times etc...

We are gonna need to coordinate a van to pick us up and drop us off. I would like to do at least 2 runs.

Cheers,
Ron

Still thinking of doing it this Saturday... I may have a baby sitter. Still the 23rd or 24th would be better for me (not fathersday weekend).

Are you kidding?

In the time you de-rig, walk up the car, drive back to Rowena, I will have kited back upwind and be standing there drinking a beer watching you pull into the parking lot.

This is not a downwind run, it is a casual mosey to a slightly different area of the river. Albeit a fun one...

Who would like to launch from Row wiener and then head to the Onion Patch?

This is not a lesson, and if you're not an independent rider with the ability to go upwind, self land, and self launch, and if needed self rescue in deep water you better think twice about going.

If you are not sure of what your ability level then call me and I'll help you figure it out. I don't teach for free.

I'll be launching at Rowena around 2:45 to 3pm.

Join up and have some fun on a very cool downwinder!!!

**If you want to go but need jet ski support I can do that but it's gonna be a lesson. This is not an advertisement, but a fact. If you need to be "watched" on the water that is an evaluation and part of a lesson.

Cheers!!!

We were going to do Rowena to The Dalles Watefront, a couple of Saturdays ago, but didn't. Bulae, have you ever been from secret to The Dalles?? I wonder how that wind is in the river as it turns south.

The river makes about a 60 degree turn after the Secret Spot, so I can't imagine the wind is very good much beyond there. There are also some major power lines crossing the river at the narrowest point after the Discovery Center. The downwinder to the Dalles would be a bad idea with a kite.

Maybe kiters could buy up all the lots at Club Shred in Murdock and turn it into a kite beach?

So how was this awesome downwinder? Noticed a few kites out at SS late the in the afternoon on the way back from Arlington...

All you newbies get your schooling from the master? Yo Ron... It is "RAW WIENER"... get it?

No one try the run to the city park in the Dalles? What, you guys getting soft?
