I knew it would be good, as I biked home from downtown along the river. It was picking up.

Who thinks today or this weekend will go at SI?

I thought about going to SI after work last night - but traffic from Wilsonville looked gnarly out towards hwy 30 - so I went Stevenson. It was an hour and a half of good fun!

Good decision. Gorge wind yesterday might have been the best of the season so far. Rode 3 hours in HR in perfect conditions. Not sure how long it takes Portland peeps to get to Jones or Sauvies with traffic but I've kited the last 8 days straight from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm like clockwork, mostly lit on a 10M. Rideshare and come get some because isn't the travel time about the same????????? Sorry, I don't know Portland traffic patterns well.

From Wilsonville to Jones - take 1 hour 20 mins : to HR 1 hour 10 mins : to SI 50 mins : to Stevenson 50 mins. I am always leary about making a late drive to HR because I have gone several times when I get out on the water and the wind just shuts off with no particular ryhme or reason. Whereas - Stevenson tends to shut off at about 7 pm, Jones you can go till dark a lot of times, and SI is anybody's guess.

From Hillsboro Cornelius Pass area, I can get to the kite beach at SI from my house in 40 minutes.

Jones is about an hour and 20 minutes, worse in traffic.

Thanks Blaze. I was kind of thinking you guys are investing about an hour to go get your goods. Hood is going off later and later and riding till 8:00 pm is doable. The key is rig big early because it will shut down and you need to get back to the Sandbar from Wells. Wells to the Hatch blows steady so it's deceiving.

I'll rig 2 sizes up between 4 & 5 and ride powered until 6. You can tuck into mellow spots by the Marina or Wells if it picks up but typically up to 7:30 is stellar. 7:30+ is soul session and getting back to the Sandbar to play in the kiddie pool. Obviously each day is different but that schedule has been fairly consistent for me this past month rigging only one kite and a bigger board to catch that last late puff to the Sandbar. Sat looks good....and Father's Day looks incredible so Hood to Arlington should be a boomer.

Thx for the info - I will remember to rig big if I get out that way later in the evening. Definately going to get some tomorrow and Father's day!
