Thanks to connor and Ruben,
Blew my transition and I dumped my kite, had a bridal hangup that turned into hook wrap up macramae extordinaire.
kiter powered up let loose the chicken loop, kite still powered on safety leash, dumped the whole mess.
Thanks for the support folks!! |

I had tried to untangle, even unhooking and passing bar thru etc, thought I was clear enuf to go but when I reconnected, the kite powered up , I think you call it a dead man.
the release worked fine. but the power didn't shut off, so I let loose of the safety too. |

No problem. It's always kind of exciting to help out and always appreciated. Glad you got your kite back in good shape. |

What kite and bar system were you on?
Glad to hear it all worked ou in the end.
Practicing ejection and these scenarios are crucial. |

One nice thing about watching a kite fly away is that you know you're not connected.
I guess my thoughts would be to know that you have safety options. On the sling shot bars you have 5 potential releases. _________________ Hey, I'm being hahahahahrassed! |

2010 naish cult,
low mileage 2010 naish bar
I was glad to be free of it
Wraps around the chicken loop are very dangerous situations.
glad I got that cleared before kite launched.
The kite hadn't wanted to fly at all until the last move.
then I was underwater, i had no idea how my kite was flying. |

ya, so were you leashed to the kill line (single center line point mounted on the side of the harness loop on 2010 naish bar), or depower/suicide style? (just curious, cause its not too often a single centerline point (like slingshot css, ozone, wainman 2012, blade, naish, and a few other bars use) fail. |

to the yellow center line.
I had pulled on the right side lines to try and clear the bridle wrap, and when I looked down saw that the chick loop/hook was snarled with yellow. so I disconnected and tried to unsnarl.
I have no idea how it got so f-ed up so quickly.
I am thinking of a breakaway harness hook as a safety for hook wrap issues.
clevis pin release.
Hein get on that will ya. |

Nak invented a break away harness loop. Maybe he can chime in. _________________ Slingshot | Ride Engine |Try before you buy | PM me

What exactly got tangled on the hook?
If it was just the yellow leash line then your kite should have still depowered shouldn't it?
Were either of your rear lines caught on the hook too? Was your whole bar caught up in the leash line and unable to let the other lines sheet out?
I'd like to know because I have that exact same kite/bar! |

Ah ya, that can definitely happen. Lines get wrapped or tied up when slack and then things dont work, not too common but for sure happens. Gotta always watch for tangles like that on weird crashes. |
