DaKine Harness Repair help needed.

Few years ago my Dakine harness needed repair and I took it in to the HR DaKine office, they had it repair'ed pronto and for a reasonable charge. When my friends harness broke this weekend over at coast, I told him I'd drop it off to get fixed, only to learn DaKine no longer does harness repair. The local seamstress they referred me to didn't have a machine to fix harnesses (she mostly does backpacks, bags, etc).

With new harnesses costing 150 to 200, my friend was hoping to spend $40, maybe $50 to get his harness fixed. It's a perfectly good harness (and his favorite), seems a shame to toss. Anyone have any pointers on to how I can get it fixed, the buckle on one side ripped off (other side is only half attached), and the power belt ripped out.

To DaKine's credit, they did give me two new power-clips to use, as the existing ones were a little bent.

Thanks.

I believe the Dangler also does kite repairs and probably harnesses etc, too.

Can you give me contact info for the "local seamstress"? I have a boat cover needs some work and if she does backpacks, this would probably be up her alley.

Gandara Alterations, 1308 12th St, Hood River 541-436-2640.

Very nice lady. She quoted me $10 to hem 8 little boy shorts/cutoffs, so I'll be using her services soon !!

Thanks for all the pointers, I'll try Northwave, I'll be down that way this afternoon.
