so i have been searching for prices for some gear i want to buy online. keep coming up with results for something called http://wiragama.com. This site is advertising unreal prices. Says they are based out of indonesia and that they only take wire transfer or wester union as payment method. i wouldn't go this route myself, sounds super fishy. But, if im seeing this in my searches, others are too. Maybe the endubbers can comment, possibly help save someone a few bucks or a bad experience. In my opinion, there is no way you can have prices like this though. |

i remember that discussion, it was a little different. this is a web based e-com store trying to seel what looks like brand new gear, current and recent year models. heres a link, take a look
http://wiragama.com/
aside from the prices, and then of course the payment terms, it looks like it is pretty legit. Might even be legit, but it might not. Thats why Im putting it out there. If I'm seeing it, others are too. If you can get new gear, current year model for 1/3'rd to 1/2 off, killer. If not, I hope it gets out there and no one gets taken. |

YES! 100% SCAM!!
Can read more about it here from KF:
http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2375533&hilit=wiragama
Also, in a discussion that circulated the industry recently, it was confirmed by nearly every brand manager that none of the kite companies are selling kites to this shop in indo. Not Liquid Force, Slingshot, Cabrinha, Naish, North, etc, etc...
We also received an email from janky, the only legit indo kite seller, who gave more info on this scam and others like it in indo:
Dear All,
more and more SCAM website are popping out in Indo..
I guess it must be quite profitable and I'm wondering if I'm on the wrong
side of the business!!! Just a joke...
For your info I put now a warning on my Home Web page and also on the Shop
page... www.bali-kitesurfing.org
I don't ship overseas BUT I also do not receive any enquiry.
I keep posting in all forums I usually receive and reply to emails of people
asking about these web sites! Some before they send money but unfortunately
few after they sent money and did not get anything...
Buying from this guys is the same as sending money to some nice business guy that promise 10 millions dollars to you!
This guys have never seen a kite and that is why they do not understand the concept of kite sizes...
I just want to reassure you that I do NOT give any kitesurfing product to
ANY other shop/web site/ or whatever in Indo..
My shop as per today is the only kitesurfing shop in all of Indonesia.
Any help to reinforce this would be really appreaciated.
Bye Jankie
This new web site http://wiragama.com/ is made from the same guy of the one under here as some packages are same: Trade in Deal for Steve.. etc/
THIS ONE LOOK VERY PROFESSIONAL....

The address and the phone number DO NOT EXIST!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ Liquid Force Kiteboarding in the Pacific Northwest.

Yeah the other one was the same deal. Trying to look like a web store selling brand new gear. This new one is a scam too. Almost certainly the same guys. They've learned how to make it a little more convincing is all.
Just remember, any store that only takes Western Union or wire transfer is a scam. They claim to take PayPal, but mouse over the PayPal logo. You'll see it's just an image, not a link to PayPal. |

Even if were legit - it's a bad idea to buy from them.
Our local shop owners like Pepi at second Wind lead the fight for beach access and all the other issues that we face. He spends hundreds of hours doing volunteer service for the kite community. He deserves our support.
The local shop owners support the warranties and provide expert help and service.
They deserve our support.
You may save a few bucks up front by buying from discount retailers but it will cost you in the end.
If you support our local shops - the money and karma trickles down into the local economy (taxes, shop employees, etc).
If you support foreign economies, our money and karma are lost into the websphere.... |

Took the words right outta of my mouth. One sure way to not get scammed is by walking into a shop, get the right gear, and probably shake hands with the owner. I'm sure Pepi would be willing to ship to you too. |
