Getting some new kites and wondering if anyone has had success w/ applying some sort of UV protectant to the canopy to prevent wear/fading. Would love to keep the crinkly goodness as long as possible. |

New kites have a protectant. The reason they don't get wet at first. It wears off after awhile.
I wouldn't apply anything the first season, as you could end up screwing the factory protection.
New kites rock. Had the pleasure of flying a NEW 12m Rally yesterday. Squall came and crushed us.
After the rain stopped, shook the kite a bit and the water flew off. Packed up nearly dry.
AHHHHHHH, NEW KITES!!!
p.s. Apply that UV protection to your face, or end up looking like me. _________________ Kite Repair? AND WINGS Call me.(509) six 37-four five 29 |

Smear about a gallon of zinc-oxide all over your kite, just like the old days when we were kids having that white shit caked all over our noses. Your kite will last forever against the UV, but it will probably fly like beer-bellied fatboy. |
