After playing around with a 2 string foil kite down in Florida, and watching boarders go by every day I have got to get into this sport!
Wondering if there is anyone local to the Bend area??? Would be nice to shoot the breeze and learn some stuff before I start spending $$$$.
Long time snowboarder, wakeboarder, and sailor...just a natural progression I suppose! If your local shoot me a pm or reply would love to hook up over a brew or something and pick your brain a bit!!! And maybe do some car-pooling to the gorge down the road! Though I am hoping to kite the local lakes also! |

Used to live there, there are a few kiters around. If you manage a session at a local lake/reservoir you should go buy a lottery ticket. Tucker park is a nice campground in Hood River for your kiting weekends. |

hahah...I see plenty of cranking days up at Wickiup or Cultus. I live about 10 miles tops from wickiup. I am up at the lakes sailing hobie cats all the time. Figured if its too windy for me to solo a hobie (with no backup) than its kite-able. I have spent a bunch of time in the HR area. Used to fly rc slope gliders up there when I lived in PDX. Also have a buddy who is BIG into windsurfing...used to load up the gliders and go camp out with him. He knows all the good free spots lol. Id spend half the day watching him wishing I had a toy to go play with out there and the other half up on Bald Butte flying gliders. |
