Mon Mar 19, 12 10:46 am Shipping a directional? |

Is there a bag that's padded enough to make it through FedEx without munching a board/fragile directional? Or a bomber hard case? How do people ship surf boards?
I have a "golf" bag but it's maxed out with gear.

I would recommend going to your local kite or surf shop and ask if they have any board boxes laying around. If shipping get a cardboard box and pad it up nicely (pipe insulation on rails, bubble wrap, etc).
Why do you need to ship a board? If you're flying somewhere you might as well pay the airline fees. It won't cost much if any more than shipping and in my experience I think your board may have less chance of getting damaged on the plane. _________________ "all I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine."

I travel alone to the DR with a 50 lb Dakine roller, a 50 lb golf bag, and 13.5 kite bag onmy back packed to the brim. It's enough as is negotiating the transfer at Miami. |
