Can anyone recommend a place to purchase North lines..for the bar that came with 2010 rebels... would also consider buying a used bar with Like new lines.
Question no.2 What year sprinters can burn Mexican diesel... is it pre 06? anyone recommend the "preferred" yr sprinter? |

Yes pre-06 have no issues with low-sulfer Mexico diesel. NCV3 ("New Concept Vehicle 3", 2007 and newer Sprinters are also running all over Mexico commercially and privately with great results. Popular Pemex stations are a smart option to top off compared to some Mom & Pop station so plan ahead and you should be fine. The $1,500 Diesel Particulate Filter is suspect to "ultra" low sulfer and it will toast a motor but most issues from what I have heard are actually coming from US stations. Safe travels. |

all pemex stations have the same fuel, no difference between "popular and mom and pop".
Call sprinter for the real info.
Have been driving my diesel truck down there for years with no differences.
Also, sprinters have crappy ground clearance and get stuck in sand quicker than peanut butter. |

Sprinter changed from the 5 cylinder to the 6 half way through 2007. If you can find a 5 cylinder then you can run any diesel. If you have the 6 then I'm not sure, but it can void the warranty. Mine's an early 2007 model- ran it all over Mexico with no problems.
On the forums they suggested that when running non ULSF fuel, you change the oil at 5K intervals instead of 10K. When I called Mercedes to get the final answer, I was told that running non ULSF would harm my engine- they didn't seem to understand that wasn't the case! So in Mercede's opinion, all 6 cylinders are for ULSF only and according to one guy in the tech department, even the 5 cylinders- but its well known that is incorrect.
Plus the 5 cylinder gets at least 4 mpg better than the 6. |
