Accident was actually closer to Drano Lake and Willard (I drove thru that tunnel about an hour before the crash).... whirlwind devils in full force along that stretch of river, wind was especially weird and wicked at that particular spot.... not as wicked at Swell or Hatch.
Amazing nobody was hurt.

I have heard of semis being blown over/off on the Maryhill bridge, but it's hard to imagine cross winds at river level strong enough to do that. I guess those side skirts on the trailer didn't help much.

Seems like there has been a dramatic increase in truck traffic on Hwy 14 the past 5 years. As it is not a truck friendly road just a matter of time before more serious accidents. Used to feel okay cycling on 14 but no longer.
Anyone know why the increase in truck traffic? Don't see a lot of local economic development to drive that type of traffic on a rural road like Hwy 14.
