Hypothetically, its not happening this weekend.........
How much would you pay (or what do you think someone else would pay) to spontaneously go to Miami/FL Keys this weekend and kite with a private, all inclusive kite boat for 2-3 days on your choice of 100+ miles of sandbars and islands?
How much for JUST the kiter service? Not including lodging or plane ticket _________________ TB |

$150
For last minute, it has to be a good wind forecast and a really good price to lure us down. So the client is looking at almost guaranteed riding in sweet locations....because, the kite $ is a small portion of it.
If you throw together a website for people, you have to make it easy! ...last minute trip, right? Point me to negotiated lodging options and transportation from the airport to you. If I'm kiting with you for 2-3 days, I can probably skip the car rental expense, but need some way to get me and all my gear to lodging near your beach. So, make that $200 if you provide the ground transfer as well. Maybe a little more if you are also throwing in lunch on the boat. And since I don't have a car, if it isn't windy, we're all going snorkeling or bar hopping by boat.
Just realized you said "all inclusive" okay that makes a difference...that means beer, lotion, and bikinis to apply it. You can go above $200 now. |

It would be last minute. For example, it will be windy in miami this weekend and flights from portland to miami on thursday are $490. Throw on top 300$ for lodging.
So your at $800, now how much for me to take you out on my boat for 3 straight days of kiting in knee deep flat water and 75 degree weather? I know anyone who is not in South Florida right now is freezing their ass off. _________________ TB |

I lived in Miami for a good 30 years, windsurfing kiting for a good 20 of those.
Here is your best forecast for the area, usually a bit light on the forecast by 2 or 3 knots
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/data/Forecasts/FZUS52.KMFL.html
deerfield to ocean reef is the one to look at
Doesn't look like anything special this weekend
I think monday-tuesday will be better
It is all frontal driven, you just have to be there. For MIA/KYW to happen you need
a big HIGH PRESSURE area just off NC , as is happening now. Tampa is also a consideration if the High Pressure circulation does not push east far enough and
you instead get NORTH winds that don't translate well in Miami.
It is still all frontal driven , 1 X a week is a good guess |
