La Ventana Classic Needs Your Help

The 2012 La Ventana Classic has been great so far this year. If you’ve been following the daily photos and updates on Facebook or thekiteboarder.com, you know what an amazing event this is, and we are only at the halfway point! The action has included an 11-mile island kite crossing, 10-mile island SUP crossing, skydiving, beach games, nightly parties, kiteboarding and SUP demos, and more! That’s the good news. Unfortunately we have a little bad news and need to ask for your help.

The La Ventana Classic is being heavily gouged by government inspectors this year for taxes, fees, and additional permits -- things they granted for free in previous years due to the fact that we are a fundraiser event. As they are now receiving large sums from other nearby events, they now are putting the squeeze on us, while not complying with any of their promises to help. We can address this next year, but this year, were caught off guard. The schools are losing money everyday to them -- we need your help! If anyone can open their hearts to make a donation through paypal to laventanaclassic@gmail.com -- we would super appreciate it. Thank you in advance for any support you can give the event. All donations will be recognized on the website. We will also provide a non profit receipt for you if requested.

We donated a one week stay in our one bedroom condo in SPI to the silent auction. The squeeze being applied is ridiculous after all of the charity work that has been done here. Hopefully that will get sorted out for next year.

Hey Everyone
There are lots of awesome things going on here and everywhere you look there are NWkiters and now you can be a part of it. Email Marina with anything she can auction off like a painting, dinner, $25 gift cert or extra t-shirts etc. She can print the gift cert so there's no worries about the items not actually being here.

This is an awesome event so please help support it.
