Apparently, all the Hawaiian kiteboarders are on Santa's "Nice" list this year. (Except the big Islanders, looks like they've been naughty... ) Damn, how nice would Christmas on Oahu be this year...

I have been watching Kailua for a couple of weeks (online)... in many ways, it looks nicer than Maui. Here it is right now:

its almost been wearing us all out. So much wind, waves...completely beat up now.

Had several days in a row where you think its been the best session in a long time. Doing all sorts of different types of riding.

Now the wind is coming down a little...but the North Shore will continue to push swells through...and then next week the wind is back.

By any other word this is known as...Shangri La.

All you really need is a fishing pole and a breadfruit tree. That is until all your kites wear out. Then you are just paddling around with all the other worker ants.

Ha! Yeah I think I could pull off the minimalist gig, at least for a while. 'splaining that to my wife, now that's another story! Rolling Eyes

yeah, I mean there are advantages, but also disadvantages to hanging out on the Islands. It is pretty small, and not exactly super central. But you know, some good some bad...if you like to surf and kite it is pretty good though.

Lately it has been nice though.

Yeah I spose if I moved to Maui them I'd be jonesin to get back over here to hit the slopes. Grass greener thing. Its pretty hard to beat gorge/OR coast summers. 80 degree water is awful nice though...
