Maui water temp

Going to kite in Maui for first time next week. shorty wetsuit???. Any advise for newbies in Maui. I'll be the really white guy who just got off the plane.

No need for a shorty unless you get cold really easily. Most of the time a rash guard or a 2mm wetsuit top is about perfect.

The most you'll ever need, even at 530AM trying to paddle out before everyone, else is a 1 or 2 mm top. Gawd I miss Maui.

All you need is a pair of shorts and a bottle of beer.

You might be the whitest guy on the beach when you arrive but you'll be the reddest when you leave.

Just got back from Kauai which probably has the coolest air and water temps during winter of all the islands. Never needed anything more than a rash guard and boardshorts when doing ocean sports. I love that place...
