Tuesday between Longview and Lexington I had a few hours of gusty good times. Its funny the places we will ride when we start to get bored. I was watching and waiting for a good south wind for the last few months. Wind was o to 35 and my kite completely fell out of the sky several times. The Cowlitz is always cold year round but with a heavy wetsuit I was warm and toasty. The sandy beach will probably be gone after the heavy rains. My daughter snapped a few photos with her I Phone. Anyone up for trying Silver Lake near Toutle?

Nice! I'm pretty sure the Longview crew hits it once in a while.

Ahhh... it feels so good to be in Maui when I see these posts.
To be fair, I scouted the Cowlitz a couple of times.
And the Willamette.
And the local lap pool.

"gusty good times"
BINGO
the southwesterlies along there are swirly and gusty. Certain esteemed members of the longview crew have done it, but in general we tend to avoid it.
A++ for effort!!

I did the Sandy River, and was the first to kite Excellence Playa Mujeres, but Mark has the best bragging rights with downtown Portland IMHO.

I kited at your mom's house a few times.
She likes the excitement.
