Hey all...I'm here in the beautiful OBX where it's been 70 degrees & the wind today will be perfect...Bummer though to see not many people or kiters here. The island stood up to Irene really well. However, the economy, not so much. Just want to say that if you have never been here - to consider this place for your Spring plans or if you've been here - please come back. The community could really use the boost.
Renting a house with your kite buddies is very economical. Frisco Woods campground is fantastic, as you can kite right from their sandy beach. If you are looking for the ultimate experience, of course REAL's waterman's retreat is great - so is Kittyhawks' Waves condo rentals.
Seriously thinking of putting on a kite fundraising event here - the proceeds going to the local Food Bank. Any suggestions or help in that regard...please let me know.
