Getting my first kite ever, a Naish Park, should I get a 8 or a 10? I weigh about 170 lb.

The gorge, various lakes, eventually the ocean and snowkiting...

The only answer is: Get both. You buy the 8 and you wish you bought the 10. You buy the 10, you will wish you bought the 8.

my 2 cents

Don't buy both, a 2 kite quiver should be a 3 or 4 meter difference. Buying a 7/10 or even a 6/10 will get you way more sessions. For only one kite, get the 8. It will get you going most days above 15 knots. A 10 will have you sitting on the beach wishing you had an 8 more than the other way around.

I plan on a 2-3 kite quiver, but I am not made of money, so I will buy them one at a time. I think I will go with the 8 first.

Good choice! Always start small and work your way up.... if you can't find 8m wind in the Gorge in the summer you aren't really trying Very Happy

the 8 is MAGIC!!!!! Though my most used kite is the 10, I'll take the 8 out every chance I get.
