per Temira....
Tomorrow and Sunday both look like light wind days, but at least Saturday’s going to be partly sunny. Sunday looks pretty grey and rainy. I guess that means that the fishing is going to be good both days this weekend.
Tomorrow maybe....out East. |

Sat morn, 10:30, RR looks do-able.

Kited north end of Seaside this afternoon. Probably some of the most steady winds I've seen from the southwest in awhile. Went to the Cove first to check out the surf and I counted close to 50 people in the water chasing a few peaks.
Had the entrace to the river all to myself. Incredible afternoon. |

That sounds sweet! the wind chart for fri at clatsop looks real steady after 2pm. How was the swell? Nice spot there at the river where you can hide inside from the breakers if theyre too huge. I hit Rowena on fri. Kited with a gal named Laura. (Laura are you in here?) Lit on my 10m with some nice rollers. That beach is rough though. No self launching there at all its way too rocky. That might have been my last go at the gorge for this year. _________________ Haole |

2:00 was about the time the wind stabilized and blew pretty much like a fan. This time of the year I stay inside of large breakers. The sandbar that extends south from the mouth of the river produced sections of flat water with little waist high waves rolling in over the sandbar.
Tide was flushing out pretty hard, but as long as you stay out of the direct current, its just a big pool of water south of the channel. Loads of fun.
I went back today to check on conditions and it was blowing from the northwest which I've never seen this time of the year. I could have kited in the estuary with a big kite but I had house maintenance to do. Surf was really large and it was pushing into the estuary. There's a 10 foot high tide coming later this month and if the surf is large, it will probably change the landscape of the estuary. |
